Eosinophilic Oesophagitis (EoE) is a chronic, life-impacting Type 2 inflammatory disease that can be progressive and is usually triggered by food or allergens. People living with EoE face significant barriers to timely diagnosis, which can jeopardise and prevent the early intervention that is essential to alleviate symptoms and control disease progression.

EoE Position Paper

To change that, a coalition of patient organisations, health professionals, and global advocates, including the EOS Network, has come together to issue a clear and urgent call to action. The ultimate objective of this position paper is to achieve a more supportive policy environment for patients; one which considers the cumulative burden and challenges of the disease – at the individual and societal levels – and seeks to address these by providing patients and their caregivers with access to treatment and holistic, long-term care, enabling them to better manage their condition for the benefit of all.

Authors and Collaborative Leadership

This position paper was developed through the collaborative efforts of a group of three experts in the field of eosinophilic disorders:

The policy recommendations in this paper call for better and more consistent recognition, prioritisation, and management of EoE. These recommendations can help foster better health outcomes for patients, caregivers and society at large.
