Masterclass On GI or Liver Healthcare Transition: Paediatric To Adults This two-day ESPGHAN Masterclass aims to enhance the skills of paediatric and adult gastroenterologists and hepatologists in transitioning patients from child-centred to adult-oriented care. It addresses several well-recognised problems commonly occurring during the transition from paediatric to adult care, such as support for developing patient independence skills, patient self-confidence, loss of follow-up, poor treatment compliance, and the need for age-appropriate care. It is widely recognised that a poorly managed transition process can lead to serious adverse outcomes, particularly in conditions where patient safety relies heavily on strict adherence to treatment protocols. The Masterclass aims to promote essential skills for smoothly transitioning young adults between paediatric and adult healthcare, whether within the same institution or not. It targets paediatric and adult gastroenterologists and hepatologists, offering training on best practices and insights from successful European programmes. The course will host 30 delegates and include lectures, role-play, and group discussions on planning and executing transition programmes. How to apply You will need to submit your CV, motivational letter, abstract of cases or experiences that may be of interest for general discussion, through the online form. Joint applications from adult and paediatric gastroenterologists and hepatologists will be given priority. You can include the name of the other candidate in your motivational letter.
