Your Perfect Trusteeship…

Be part of creating a world where everyone with an Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disease (EGID) can eat without pain.

Could you help make this happen?

  • Do you enjoy financial planning and having financial oversight of an organisation?
  • Do you thrive in a small team, sharing your knowledge and using your skills to support others?
  • Do you have an average of 2 hours per week you could spare to apply those skills in a hands-on way to make a real difference to people across the world?

If so, you could be our ideal Trustee!

Why is our work important?

EOS Network is the only UK charity supporting people affected by EGIDs which occur in 1 in 3000 people in the UK, although it’s thought to be majorly underdiagnosed with almost a third of our adult community suffering over 10 years of symptoms before diagnosis.

Living with these life-long diseases causes not only pain and social isolation but also the financial cost of expensive highly restricted diets, and educational or work loss, which impact both the sufferer and the entire family.

What are we doing to improve the lives of the affected?

Our aim is to ensure that every person with an Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disease receives a prompt accurate diagnosis, the right treatment for them, and support to live with their condition.

More information on what we do.

Who is EOS Network?

Founded by a parent as an online family support group in 2005, today the charity collaborates with over 230 global medical professionals and researchers to improve the lives of those affected by these chronic life-impacting diseases.

Our trustee board is a small but effective group of people who are supporting EOS Network through an awe-inspiring period of growth. Over the period of the next twelve months we expect to expand from 100% volunteer-run to an employed core team of 4.

Treasurer Trustee Opportunity

We are seeking a Trustee to be our Treasurer, ensuring that appropriate financial systems and controls are in place, that record-keeping and accounts meet the conditions of funders or statutory bodies & that we maintain compliance with relevant legislation. You won’t need to be doing the bookkeeping, but you will have that oversight & ability to share and report.

You will be required to attend quarterly trustee meetings of 2 to 4 hours, potentially an annual strategic planning day and occasional management meetings to discuss budget matters. Times are flexible and generally meetings will be online but travel expenses will be covered when/if required.

Your annual commitment will average 2 hours a week.

Ideally, you will have experience of a similar role, if not in a charity, then in a business environment. You will be joining a Trustee Board of 4 people and in this volunteer role as well as developing new skills, you will be able to influence and support the future direction of the charity. We are happy to support this role with training so if you are looking for your first Trusteeship or your thirtieth, get in touch to find out more about this exciting opportunity.
